The TERF and TRANS* War Continues

Recently the war between transgender exclusionary radical feminists and transgender women has ratcheted up.

There have been doxxings and verbal violence flying around from both sides.

At heart of the battle is that TERF activists refuse to accept that TS women are indeed women and TS women asserting that they are indeed women.
Now one would think that such a disagreement would remain academic and reserved for the halls of philosophers but at the insistence of certain feminist voices {Trans* and TERF} this issue is worth going to war over.

TERF activists want spaces for women born women to remain transgender free. Now that seems a sticky subject. Ok, fine I wasn’t socialized as a female during my male days, but I sure as hell wasn’t treated like one of the boys. Sure go ahead and have your bonding experiences with other like minded women. Go to the Michigan Women’s Music Fest and your private group, get together activities. Not exactly very welcoming to all women…
But it isn’t that simple. TERF voices are calling trans* women men. That trans* women should not be allowed into any woman only space, like public restrooms and locker-rooms. They maintain that transgender females are somehow intrinsically dangerous to natal women and children. Some go as far as to say we rape women virtually; using our transformed bodies as a ticket into women’s spaces. The entire premise of their argument is very fear of rape mongering.

See now I have a problem. Trans* women are women. Period. Transgender females are much more likely to be attacked in a restroom. When we ask TERF Henie Penny’s to cite the evidence for the alleged dangers TS women pose, we are treated to a new round of circular logic and argument. No real evidence is presented.

I ask:
Would you really send me and my trans* sisters to the men’s facilities?!
Not only is it dangerous for trans* women to go to the men’s facilities, it also would be disruptive to society at large.

Let me say this loud and clear to any TERF reading this: Your ‘discomfort’ at seeing a TS woman does not trump a TS woman’s right to pee in peace. Your misplaced fears are not justification to send her into the men’s spaces. Transsexuals have the medical and psychological community’s on our side in these matters. The science is on the side of the trans* community. We are the gender we say we are.

Spokane PRIDE 2014

This year’s PRIDE was a nice event. It was not as big as I anticipated but if I had taken a moment to think on it I shouldn’t have been surprised.
Now that we have Marriage equality in Washington State and the right to serve for LGB people the need to stand and fight for many is no longer an imperative. These PRIDE events bring more than the old guard and the revelers in all things queer; they bring out the social justice warriors and advocates. But if there is nothing to fight for, the advocates and warriors don’t show up. Their friends who would have joined them do not show up as a result.
I also noticed that the event itself had fewer booths, (This is untrue, it was merely my perception of the event) but an improved kid zone over prior years. And to whoever was in charge of that kid space…It was really cool. I watched the children play on the numerous things brought in for them and was a tad jealous and longed to be 5 again, just to go into the bouncy castle for a few minutes and act the fool with the rest of the kids.
There was a Colors Guard at the parade. Apparently this is only the third time the military has allowed an honor guard. When I saw the boys getting into formation at the head of our parade and it dawned on me that these men were not costumed Color Guards or High School ROTC kids but the real deal, I almost cried. It means allot to those of us who are LGBT and prior service to see the colors at the head of a parade formation. I had a feeling only a fellow soldier or veteran could feel when I saw them in the parade.

Then there were 3 horses in the parade that looked pretty neat with rainbow socks.

There was a contingent of Angels blocking out the haters. Again I almost cried when I saw them.

The addition of these seemingly small elements to the parade really touched it off and was icing on the cake so to speak.

At the event after the parade only a couple of people in the local queer culture snubbed me. A few gay men made it a point to give me some props on my stand and being vocal on the state of current LGBT politics. One gay man even made a statement on stage taking issue with the disrespect TS women were getting via the Tranny debate.

Over all, the event was a good one. In spite of being rained on during set up and an overcast day most the day we managed to have a good time, listen to good music and watch the antics of the local burlesque show and drag performers.

I want to thank the people of OutSpokane who put it all together and the various social justice organizations who came to represent, and even the vendors who came to sell us stuff.

See you at Spokane PRIDE 2015!!!

The double standard of trans dating.

There is a double standard in the trans community when it comes to our lovers.

If a woman is turned on by a trans gender persons body and is happy to be in a relationship with a trans person she is hailed as progressive, a paragon of virtue with an open mind.

If a man is turned on by a trans gender persons body and is happy to be in a relationship with a trans person he is labeled a deviant, a predator and the ultimate 'insult' a chaser.

Just pointing it out.
It looks like an ugly thing to me.
Whats your opinion?

Cathy Brennan a conversation

Cathy Brennan sent me a facebook message this morning. To be honest I was rather surprised that I would even be on this womans radar.
So here is the conversation we had this morning. I tried to keep it civil and respectful as I do not like to blow up. (granted I do on occassion, one of the flaws of humanity)

about an hour ago Cathy Brennan hope you are well! http://iblamecathybrennan.wordpress.com/2012/03/27/the-sisterhood-%e2%98%85-blames-cathy-brennan-for-cotton-ceiling-cock-blocking/

The Sisterhood ★ Blames Cathy Brennan For Cotton Ceiling Cock Blocking

Alexandra Goodman http://leftytgirl.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/cathy-brennan-vs-the-cotton-ceiling/ I don’t know if any of you have been following the cotten ce.....Share..

about an hour ago Cyndi Bussell

Greetings and salutations.

I hope the day finds you in good spirits and having a good day.

I see that you have taken an interest in our group.

I stand behind my statement that anyone who answers a question with "blah blah blah" can be discounted and ignored.

When topics get so heated and passions run deep it is incumbant for all parties to try and remain calm and focused so that they may present a deep and thought proveking response when challenged.

Anyways,

May your week be awesome,

Cynthia Lee

..

about an hour ago Cathy Brennan Asking the same question repeatedly and ignoring the answer deserves a blah blah blah. I am not responsible for answering the same bullshit repeatedly.

..

about an hour ago Cyndi Bussell

OK.

I just started reading up on these issues.

I am certainly not an opinion leader or any form of leader in the trans* comunity. I am just a gal who is in a few groups.

When I read the entire cotton ceiling thing I was rather put off by the arguments on both sides to be honest.

I do not care to present my opinions or views to you. It would all just be transplaining.

But I will say this to you,

My mother is a lesbian, out and pround since the late 70's, she is a great mom, a feminist, a writer and part time philosopher and she has no issues with trans lesbians.

..

about an hour ago Cathy BrennanNeither do I, as it turns out. I have a huge problem though with rapey assholes.

..

32 minutes ago Cyndi Bussell

So do I.

When I get rapey, by all means get in my buisness. As it is...I have been castrated so there is not much worry about that now is there?

Also I do not violate lesbian spaces, I know better to go where I am not invited. The only involvement with lesbians I have is through my local LGBT center, and when I visit my mom.

..

31 minutes agoCathy Brennan I'm sorry, but i don't know who you are - do you think I have been talking to *you* specifically?

..

28 minutes ago Cyndi Bussell

considering how you contacted me out of the blue and we have never had a conversation previously...

yeah kinda

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Sorry.

..

28 minutes ago Cathy Brennan Cyndi - I sent you that blog link since you enjoy talking out of your ass. WRT to cotton ceiling discussions, i don't know you.

..

24 minutes ago Cyndi Bussell

OK

Yeah I do have a tendancy to talk allot. I admit it. But I did read like 3 articles that covered this topic and I was surprised to see you respond to comments like you did. You articulate rather well but when you resorted to blah blah blah, I was lost. I couldn't believe you went there and yes I dismissed you out of hand bassed on a juvinile response.

Have you considered teaming up with Lynn Baker? The two of you have similar goals and opinions.

..

19 minutes agoCathy Brennan OMG you read 3 articles! Aren't you a wonder!

..

16 minutes ago Cyndi Bussell

Yeah only 3 articles in my entire life....

hehe

Yeah once I got 3 articles into the cotton ceiling thing I was done with it to be honest.

Seemed like no one could be rational after the coments started flying. So I droped it and moved on to working. This home will not tend to itself it seems.

So. I am suddenly in the middle of a conversation that had nothing to do with me.

I stand behind the comment I made in the Sisterhood.

If all ya got is "blah blah blah" you have no real argument.

Politics and sex.

Yesterday I sent an email to John D. Ragan State Representative of TN, taking him to task over his recent homophobic statements.

His office responded and here is his reponse:

"Dear Cynthia,
... I find it amazing that those who demand tolerance from others are so intolerant toward others.
A person is a heterosexual because of the presence of genitalia of one sex or the other. No one except a very few with an exceedingly rare congenital deformity have both kinds of genitalia.
The term, "sexual orientation" is based entirely upon "feelings" according to the American Psychological Association definition. I went to great lengths with multiple examples and illustrations to point out that "feelings" do not "control" behavior. I also went to similar lengths to point out that descriptors based upon behavior do not apply to those who may "feel," be "oriented," a certain way but do not engage the behavior of the applicable descriptor.
Given that everyone born without the previously mentioned birth defect is heterosexual, the defining characteristic of homosexuality (not sexual orientation) is behavior. Behavior is a choice, as I am sure you agree. Therefore, one chooses to engage in homosexual behavior or not. if one chooses not to engage in homosexual behavior, then the descriptor of that behavior is not applicable regardless how that person may "feel" or be "oriented."
I trust this exposition has clarified the issue for you.

Regards,
John D. Ragan
State Representative"

I do not think that this is a cogent argument to discriminate against LGBT folks.

Cynthia Nixon just made a big kerfuffle when she said that for her being gay is a choice.
Pissed allot of people off.
But I understand where she is comeing from.

I can choose to be sexually active with men or women. For the vast majority of my lesbian and gay peers it is not a choice.
But what if it was? What if every single gay person could control it and choose to be straight? Would it suddenly validate the bigots?
NO!

No one has a right to impose their religions standards of living on anouther person.
Basically put, your choice of religion does not trump my right to choose who I love, live with, make love too or even fuck. It is simple really. Remeber the entire freedom thing?

There is no valid argument against LGBT people that can be posited that does not rely on scripture. None. Nada. Zip.

The Bible has no place in the court room, it should likewise have no place in the legislature.

A simple rebutal of Dirt's position.

The nemesis of FTM transition is 'Dirt'. I am sure many of our FTM out there are aware of Dirt.

One of her premises is that female to male transsexuals transition to escape the male gaze and to avoid being masturbatory fuel for male sexual fantasy. That the woman inside is seeking to escape the confines of patriarchy that holds her down.
huh
Sounds almost reasonable at first glance what with all we know about patriarchy doesn't it?
But it fails under scrutiny.

So if female body dysphoria is solely fueled by a desperate attempt of the female soul to escape patriarchy why is it that there are male to female transsexuals?
What are they trying to escape? Certainly not the patriarchy, it favors the natal male.

Perhaps their is one set of influences making FTM and another MTF?
Nope. Listen to the stories of FTM and MTF and there is a similarity in them that is striking. Both the FTM and the MTF feel an intense discomfort in their birth sex. It is like wearing someone elses shoes. Even if the size is right they will never feel right.
When puberty hits the transsexual is freaked out. If the transsexual chooses to live his or her life in their birth sex they live a life of misery. Only when the transsexual transitions do they feel any sense of relief.
Transsexuals suffer from a form of intersex. Simplified to the lowest common denominator the brain is one sex and the genitals are another.
The brain is the biggest part of our reproductive system, it is hard wired to our genitals.
When you put the wrong brain in the wrong body there is a disconnect that is very painful. Basically you have the wrong software for the peripherals being used.

So I ask you this reader...
If the body can demonstrate that it is intersexed in one part of the body (genitals) why do some people rage against the idea that another part of the body (brain) can be intersexed?

I'll tell you why. Some people fear that this will lead to gender essentailism. That what you have between your legs determines your limits and abilities.
Which is bunk. It has been demonstrated time and time again that the only vocation that is gender specific is wet nurse.

Have a great day.

Hugz and luv,
Cynthia Lee

Back to conspiracy...

My take on the NWO, and Illuminati....

Some one has to run the show. You and I certainly can not do the job. We are not trained to do so.
They are.

Yes there are some corrupt asshats out there.
SO?

It comes with the territory. You can't make an omlette without breaking some eggs.

When I think of how they are running the show and how I would run the show, I come to the conclusion that they are allot nicer than I would be. I would be a brutal and absolute tyrant. Simply because I do not know how to politically manipulate my enemies like those who have been doing it all their lives.

Population control and demilitarization of foreign powers would be state policy. Mass manipulation of the proletariate for political purpose? You betcha.
Excecution of disidents and malcontents? In a heart beat.

When I consider how brutal I would be if in charge....these guys are pretty mellow.

Those of you out there who would stage revolution are going to have one of two things happen.
You are going to loose and get killed or placed under the boot heel of the powers that be if you survive.
If the revolution is successful then allot of people not trained in the excercise of power will accend to positions of power after they excecute the old powers that be. Resulting in a greater despotism than we already are in.

/sigh

Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't.
